Mr. Abass Bangura attached to the Lands Division of the Ministry of Lands Housing and Country Planning in an exclusive interview on Tuesday August 3rd 2021 has revealed that the Ministry of Lands Professional Staff have departed to Kambia, Kono, Bonthe and Bo districts to conduct a tour that is aimed to address Lands issues in relation to the new policies that was mapped out by the Minister of Lands Dr. Turad Senessi.
He said their visit will also take into consideration the Provincial Lands Act in relation to the present situation and ramifications. He added that the Minister of Lands is loaded with lots of challenges, but he stated that the current Minister of Lands has addressed. He went on to say that the Nine Man Committee appointed by the current Minister of Lands will soon submit its report to the Ministry of Lands.
The Minister of Lands has already in touch with International Housing Companies to construct affordable houses in the country that is expected to address the many challenges in the housing sector.
As one Bockarie Koroma of Dodo community at Mechem in the west end of the city says: “we have presented a case of 100 acres of land grabbed by one Mr. Collins and backed by the former Minister with the excuse that it belongs to his grand-father without no document”.
