Njala University Champions the Celebration of International World Rabies Day

Njala University courtesy of the Animal Science Department, School of Agriculture and Food Sciences has on 28th September championed the celebration of International World Rabies Day.

With support from the University Administration, Pandora’s project at the School of Community Health Sciences, the Bo City Council the Celebration has targeted and trained three thousand two hundred and fifty (3,250,000) three thousand two hundred and fifty pupils in forty-five (45) Schools in Bo and Moyamba Districts with critical messages in Rabies Prevention, Dog Ownership, and Management.

The Pupils will spend half of the day visiting their communities with the supervision of University Lecturers and school teachers to disseminate critical messages on rabies.

International World Rabies Day is celebrated on the 28th of September every year to raise awareness about rabies infection and mark the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur a French Biologist, microbiologist, and chemist who developed the first rabies vaccine.
