Helping Hand Organization Supports Wellington Fire Victims

As part of their commitments to provide support to deprived and vulnerable people and children across the country, Helping Hand Organization has over the weekend boosted the victims of the November 5th Wellington fuel tanker fire accident with cash worth millions of Leones.

The official handing over of the cash packages to various families took place at Wellington, in the East part of Freetown.

Handing over the cash packages, the Country Coordinator of Helping Hand, Sulaiman Umarr Bangura said that their Organization is established to help provide support to deprived children, he said that they are on a project to help children with food and materials when the Wellington fire incident occurred, thus, the CEO of the Organization, Adama Turay, who doubles also as Regional Accountant for BRAC and in support of members from diaspora thought it fit to sympathize with the Wellington people who are directly affected by the explosion with some cash which he said could be helpful to sustain themselves for the time being.

‘‘As an organization, we decided to sympathize with the victims and victims’ families because, we believe in patriotism and believe in helping the vulnerable. We wish to show solidarity with the surviving victims of the fire disaster and also express our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. This is the first phase of our support, time to time, our organization will reach out to you with more support” he said.

Receiving the donated cash, Alpha Kargbo, a taxi Driver who was also a victim of the fire incident and Marie Turay expressed appreciation to Helping Hand Organization for the support and reaching them during their trying time. The also called on other philanthropists to follow the steps of Helping Hand
