Freetown, 29th April 2025 – The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) has officially published its first-ever newsletter – NDMA Newsletter, Volume 1, No. 01/2025 with support from the Food Systems Resilience Project (FSRP). This inaugural publication is a reflection of the Agency’s growing impact and its desire to bring the public closer to the heart of its work.
The newsletter brings to life the stories of those working behind the scenes, the lives impacted by NDMA’s interventions, and the progress being made in building national resilience. It also highlights the critical role of the FSRP, whose support made this publication possible, in addressing food security and strengthening the country’s disaster preparedness.
Editor and producer of the newsletter, Mohamed Lamrana Bah, NDMA’s Director of Communications, remarked: “For us, this is more than just a newsletter. It’s a window into our world, a way of showing the faces, the efforts, and the collective will that drives us to deliver on our mandate. It’s a platform for sharing what we do, why we do it, and how it positively impacts people every day.”
The publication features a rich blend of field stories and insights, all carefully curated and written by the NDMA Communications Team. It offers a humanistic lens through which the Agency’s work and FSRP’s significant interventions in strengthening food systems can be better understood by the public.
With the continued support of FSRP, the newsletter will be published monthly for a year, serving as a bridge between the Agency and the public. It further demonstrates NDMA’s commitment to building partnerships and driving continuous improvement.
In this first edition, NDMA invites readers not just to learn but to journey with the Agency in its aspiration to build a safer and more resilient Sierra Leone.
