By Mamajah Jalloh

An accountant, Abubakarr Adam Sillah, was arraigned before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on Wednesday, 11th February 2026, after he reportedly jumped bail in connection with the alleged theft of over one billion Leones from Vista Bank.
Sillah faces 63 counts of larceny by a servant, contrary to Section 17(1)(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the indictment, between January and October 2022, Sillah, while employed as an accountant by DirectAid Sierra Leone Limited, allegedly stole a total sum exceeding Le 1 billion from DirectAid’s account (No. 066011383690202) held at Vista Bank, Freetown. The funds were intended for aid services.
When the charges were read to the accused, no plea was recorded.
Prosecutor C.S.P Tommy B. Zizer, Esq., applied for a bench warrant against the absent defendant and his sureties. Magistrate Jah granted the application and remanded Sillah to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to 20th February 2026 for further proceedings.
