A man identified as Sulaiman Koroma has appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown for an alleged case of Fraudulent Conversion.
The accused was arraigned on Monday, 3rd November, 2025, on a single count of Fraudulent Conversion, contrary to Section 20 (1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, on Friday, 24th October, 2025, at Lightfoot Boston Street, Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use certain items entrusted to him by Alusine Koroma for safekeeping.
The said items included one vehicle battery valued at NLe 2,000, and two headlights valued at NLe 800 each, all amounting to a total value of NLe 3,600 — property belonging to the complainant.
When the charge was read and explained to him, Sulaiman Koroma pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Wilson applied for a short adjournment to present her first witness and informed the court that the matter would proceed as a summary trial, since the defendant did not wish to cross-examine any of the witnesses.
The accused was not legally represented during the proceedings.
Magistrate Fornah ordered that subpoenas be issued for the absent prosecution witnesses and remanded the accused at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
The case was adjourned to 10th November, 2025, for further hearing.
