Freetown, Sierra Leone – Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 has ordered that a subpoena be issued for an absent prosecution witness in the ongoing housebreaking and larceny case involving Salim Fofanah, a painter.
The matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, with the accused facing one count of housebreaking and larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
According to the police charge sheet, the accused allegedly broke into the dwelling house of Dominic Lamin at No. 12 Babadorie Hill, Lumley, Freetown, on 4 June 2026, with the intent to steal.
The prosecution alleged that the accused stole one BJ wardrobe valued at US$2,700, equivalent to Le64,260, and one heavy-duty tool kit valued at US$600, equivalent to Le14,280. The total value of the allegedly stolen items is Le78,540, all said to be the property of Dominic Lamin.
When the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken from the accused.
During the proceedings, prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Wilson informed the court that both the complainant and the prosecution witness were absent.
In response, Magistrate Fornah ordered that a subpoena be served on the absent prosecution witness to compel attendance at the next hearing.
The matter was adjourned to 28 July 2026 for further proceedings.
