As the All People’s Congress (APC) prepares for the 2028 general elections, supporters of Dauda Blaq have described his potential elevation to the position of National Organising Secretary as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and mobilisation efforts.
Supporters say organising and mobilisation remain critical to the success of any political movement, particularly as parties prepare for major elections.
According to his backers, Dauda Blaq has demonstrated qualities they believe are essential for effective political organisation, including the ability to listen, engage with party members, identify leadership structures and develop systems aimed at improving coordination.
They argue that, as National Organising Secretary, he would be expected to help strengthen the party’s structures by identifying leaders, assessing available resources and developing strategies capable of supporting the APC’s electoral ambitions.
His supporters also point to mobilisation as another area where they believe he could make a significant contribution. They say effective mobilisation requires transforming party structures into active participation by encouraging members and supporters to attend meetings, volunteer, engage communities and participate in the electoral process.
The supporters maintain that organising and mobilisation are closely connected. While organising establishes the structures, responsibilities and networks required to build a strong political party, mobilisation helps activate those structures and encourage participation at critical moments.
They further argue that a political party with strong organisational structures but weak mobilisation may struggle to translate its strength into electoral results, while mobilisation without proper organisation could prove difficult to sustain.
Against this backdrop, supporters of Dauda Blaq believe his election as National Organising Secretary would help the APC strengthen its grassroots structures and improve its mobilisation capacity ahead of the 2028 general elections.
They are therefore calling on APC delegates and members to support Dauda Blaq for the position, describing him as a candidate capable of combining organisation, communication and grassroots mobilisation in pursuit of the party’s electoral objectives.
