A 24-year-old driver, Dauda Kamara, has been remanded in custody after making another court appearance on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at the Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown.
Kamara is facing one count of Fraudulent Conversion, contrary to Section 20 (1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to court documents, on 27th March 2025 at Crabtown in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use a black TVS HLC 125 motorbike valued at Le15,000, which had been entrusted to him by Momodu Bangura for commercial use. The motorbike is said to be the property of Bangura.
When the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken.
Prosecuting officer, Inspector T. Macfoy, requested a short adjournment to prepare and lead the next prosecution witness in the matter.
Magistrate Kallon refused bail due to the seriousness of the offence and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, 8th July 2025.
