On Tuesday, 3 February 2026, Abubakarr Bangura, Olufemi Williams, Hindolo Lamin, and Abubakarr Kargbo made their final appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in an ongoing store breaking and larceny case.
The four defendants faced three counts: conspiracy to commit a crime, store breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916, and receiving stolen goods contrary to Section 33(1) of the same act.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at Crab Town, Lumley, Western Area, the defendants allegedly conspired with other unknown persons to commit store breaking and larceny.
• Count Two alleged that on the same date and location, the defendants broke into the store of Kadie Bull, stealing eighty cartons of assorted tiles, half a ton of 5/8 iron rods, and other items valued at Le65,260.
• Count Three further stated that the defendants received sixty cartons of assorted tiles, valued at Le18,000, knowing they were stolen property.
When the charges were read, the defendants did not enter a plea.
Prosecutor Inspector Mabel M. Tarawally Esq. led the witnesses, after which the case file was withdrawn for ruling.
Magistrate Jah, after reviewing the evidence presented, ruled that sufficient evidence had been adduced to commit the matter to the High Court. Consequently, the four defendants were remanded to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown without bail, and the case has been committed to the High Court for further trial.
