Mason Remanded for Alleged House Theft

Freetown, Sierra Leone – A 22-year-old mason, Emmanuel Kargbo, appeared again before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, to answer to a charge of Larceny in a Dwelling House, contrary to Section 13(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to police reports, on Sunday, 18th May 2025, at Comium Pole Hill Top, Hill Station in the Mountain Rural District, Kargbo allegedly entered the residence of Ibrahim Tucker with intent to steal. He is accused of stealing a Tecno Android mobile phone valued at Le2,500, property of the said Ibrahim Tucker.

When the charge was read and explained in court, no plea was taken from the accused.

The prosecutor, Corporal 12090 Zainab Bangura, requested a short adjournment to present the next prosecution witness.

Due to the seriousness of the offence, Magistrate Kallon refused bail and remanded the accused at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.

The matter has been adjourned to Tuesday, 8th July 2025, for further proceedings.
