Freetown, Sierra Leone, twenty-two-year-old motorcycle rider, Eric George, has been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No.1 on Monday, 6th July, 2026, after George was convicted on one count of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act, 1916.
According to the police, between 1 March and 30 June 2026, at No. 6 Mount Blue Close, Leicester Village, Mountain Rural District in the Western Area, the convict stole two large cooking pots, five pairs of assorted crepes, two electric geese, and other household items valued at Le36,500. The stolen property belonged to former Member of Parliament for Bo District and former SLPP mayoral aspirant in Bo City, Hon. Monyaba Koroma.
When the charge was read and explained to him, George pleaded guilty.
The Prosecutor DPC 17649 Brima Kargbo informed the court the facts as charged and that the convict had no previous criminal record.
In plea mitigation, the convict pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Jah noted that the convict had pleaded guilty and had not wasted the court’s time and taking those factors into consideration, he sentenced him to four years’ imprisonment at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown
