Fugitive Dutch drug trafficker Jos Leijdekkers, widely known as “Bolle Jos,” has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by a Belgian court for his role in the sprawling Costa mega-trial. Prosecutors identified the 35-year-old as a leading figure in one of four criminal networks accused of generating billions of euros through cocaine trafficking and linked him to the smuggling of at least 1,600 kilograms of cocaine.
The latest conviction brings Leijdekkers’ combined prison sentences in Belgium to more than 100 years, further cementing his status as one of the most wanted criminals in the Benelux region. The Costa trial involved more than 50 defendants and focused on criminal organizations alleged to have earned an estimated €3.5 billion from the international cocaine trade.
