Abdulrahim Cole, a 26-year-old security guard, appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on Friday, April 25, 2025, charged with larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge, on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the National Mineral Agency’s New England Ville office in the Western Area of Freetown, Cole allegedly stole a five-gallon container of diesel valued at Five Hundred and Forty-Eight Leones (Le548), property of the National Mineral Agency.
Upon being read the charge, Cole pleaded guilty to the offence.
Prosecutor, Sergeant 8975 Bangura, requested a short adjournment to allow the exhibit clerk to present the diesel in question as evidence.
The accused was not represented by legal counsel during the hearing.
Magistrate Kekura, considering the seriousness of the charge, ordered Cole to be remanded in the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to Thursday, May 2, 2025, for further proceedings.
