Three labourers — 30-year-old Abass Sesay, 19-year-old Abdulai Sesay, and 17-year-old Foday Kamara — have been arraigned before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 on five counts ranging from wounding and assault to malicious damage and possession of offensive weapons.

The accused were charged with offences contrary to Sections 6 and 16(1) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965.

According to the particulars of offence, on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, at Koya Town, Wellington, in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused persons allegedly wounded one Abdul Fattah Kamara. They also allegedly assaulted him, occasioning actual bodily harm, and maliciously damaged his Toyota Camry (registration number AQF 181) — including both windscreens — valued at NLe 7,000, along with seven zinc sheets and other items, all totaling NLe 10,750.

It was further alleged that the accused threw missiles at the complainant’s compound and were found in possession of offensive weapons without lawful authority.

When the charges were read and explained, no plea was taken.

The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sorie Conteh, led in the first prosecution witness, Abdul Fattah Kamara, who testified that the accused and others not before the court stormed his residence at night armed with sticks, kobokos, cutlasses, and pepper water.

He recounted that the second and third accused attacked him, splashing pepper water into his eyes, rendering him helpless as they assaulted him.

Following the testimony, DSP Conteh requested a short adjournment.

Defence counsel A. B. Marrah applied for bail on behalf of the accused, but Magistrate Fornah refused the application and ordered that all three be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to 27th October 2025 for further proceedings.
