Three Months On, Police Silent Over Alan Jalloh Kidnapping

It has been almost three months since the reported kidnapping of Alan Jalloh and others, who were allegedly abducted in a black jeep in Freetown. However, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have yet to issue any official statement on the incident.

Sources close to the case told this publication that the alleged kidnapping may be linked to Jos Leijdekkers, a drug trafficker wanted by the European Union. Family members of the alleged victims have described the situation as distressing and deeply troubling.

Several individuals familiar with the case, who spoke on condition of anonymity, expressed frustration over what they perceive as a lack of urgency from both the government and the police. “It feels like the authorities are not taking this matter seriously,” one source said.

Nearly three months after the reported incident, the victims remain unaccounted for, and no official updates have been provided to their families or the public. The continued silence from law enforcement has heightened public concern and speculation over the safety of the victims, as well as fears about the possible influence of organized criminal networks in the country.

Other sources alleged that senior police officials are aware of the matter but have allegedly turned a blind eye to the case.

This medium made several attempts to contact the Sierra Leone Police for comment. However, as of the time of going to press, no response had been received.
