The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio, has endorsed a renowned business tycoon and entrepreneur, Mr. Mohamed Gento Kamara to run for the Mayoral Seat in the 2023 Local Council Election.
This endorsement has sent many tongues wagging as to the special favor or consideration given to Mohamed Gento which led many of his admirers to consider him as the Blue Eyed Boy of the ruling SLPP party.
Amazingly, it is as if the SLPP Blue Eyed Boy will go unopposed for the SLPP Mayoral Seat but senior political observers have called on the SLPP party to open up the Mayoral Seat to other aspirants that may want to contest for the position.
However, admirers of the business tycoon have applauded the SLPP party for endorsing Mohamed Gento Kamara to run for the Mayoral Seat in the Capital City of Freetown.
It is arguable that the Mayoral Seat is a seat reserved exclusively for the Creoles. However, it is on records that if not all but over 95% of people that have contested and won the Mayoral Seats in Freetown are Creoles.
As the 2023 elections draw nearer, the people of the Capital City of Freetown will determine whether the Mayoral Seat is a seat reserved exclusively for the Creoles or not.
