Sierra Leone Ambassador to Egypt pays courtesy call on Netherlands Ambassador to Egypt

Cairo – Thursday, 1 November 2022: The Republic of Sierra Leone Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Sadiq Silla, today paid a courtesy call on the Netherlands Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Han-Maurits Schaapveld, at the Embassy of Netherlands in Cairo.

During the meeting, Ambassador Silla presented Sierra Leone’s bid for the Non-Permanent seat in the UN Security Council 2024-2025 and solicited Netherlands support in that direction.

On his part, Ambassador Han-Maurits Schaapveld commended Ambassador Silla for the visit and emphasized that his country is enjoying considerable partnership with Sierra Leone. He assured that he will convey the message to the relevant authorities back home.

Their discussions also focused on various issues of mutual interest aimed at supporting African countries to improve the peace and security. Ambassador Sadiq Silla thanked the Netherlands government for it’s continuous support and contribution to bolstering trade, justice and human rights in the Africa.

Ambassador Han-Maurits Schaapveld said that Netherlands attaches great importance to Sierra Leone and its relations. He expressed interests in strengthening further the bilateral relations to another level. Ambassador Silla said that he hopes to keep regular discussions with the Embassy of Netherlands in Cairo to consolidate cooperation which he believes is the shared interests of both sides
