Luawa FC Appoints Former SLFA Scribe as General Manager

Luawa FC has announced the appointment of Mr. Alimu Bah as its new General Manager. According to the Football Club, Mr. Bah’s appointment came into effect immediately after the announcement.

“Alimu brings unparalleled experience and expertise that is not easy to find in Sierra Leone Football. We are blessed to have a man with years of hands-on management theoretical and practical experience in the game” CEO, Luawa Football Club, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai said.

Alimu Bah will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the expanding football academy, which has various campuses across Freetown, initiating and developing policies, and managing all aspects of event operations and logistics for WAFA away matches and pre and post-season tours. He would also act as the principal point of contact for WAFA and SLFA in relation to home and away matches, including liaison and management.

Alimu Bah is a native of Kono District and was secretary-general of the Kono District Football Association. He was appointed Secretary-General of the Council of Clubs during the war years, after he relocated with his team to Freetown.  His diligent and efficient stewardship with the Council of Clubs convinced the membership to massively vote him as General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) in 1996. He was the first and only Secretary-General from a club to ever occupy the position.  As General Secretary of the SLFA, Alimu Bah was pivotal in the construction of the SLFA Technical Training Centre at Kingtom that now houses the SLFA.

Alimu Bah has conducted several courses of instruction for administrators across the country, the most recent being with WAFA and the Western Rural FA.

In 2018 he was appointed as a Consultant by the former Minister of Sport, Ahmed Khanou, to draft a new Bill that will replace the moribund NSC Act ’64. The new NSA Act is the result of that appointment.

Alimu Bah graduated from FBC and holds a Masters in the Management and Humanities of Sport from three partner universities and the CIES in Neuchatel, Switzerland.
